Today the grade ones worked with Mrs. Armour on the carpet with white boards and 3 word families...at, an and ap. We are getting quite good thinking of words for "at". Ask us how many we can think of or find in a book that would fit in those 3 families. In Math, we stayed at the same centre as yesterday, so we would have time to record our patterns in our math books. Mrs. Boyer bought more beads for that centre so we have blue again!
Today was Fun Lunch! Some of us had Tim Hortons. Thanks to Trinity's mom and Logan's dad for volunteering...I think there might have been donuts! Trinity loves fun lunch and says she wants it every day.
In Music, Mr. Roger had a "didgeridoo" a wind instrument from Australia. He told us it is also called the "Devil's toothpick" This was the last day of drumming. Ingmar says Mr. Roger wished he could tell us tales about devils but ran out of time. He is a good story teller. We will have our performance tomorrow at 11am. You can come and hear what we have learned in only one week!
After drumming, we worked on our Animal research to make our "Who Am I?" posters. We thought finding the animals "sounds they make" the hardest category. Ask us some of the discoveries and interesting facts we made about our animal.
It was so nice outside we ran laps around the portable to get out some of our energy before coming inside for our jobs, blog, sharing and Old Man Coyote story. We had time for "Tea with Teach" today!
We are bringing home a survey about our blog. Please fill it out and send it back tomorrow or Monday so we can see how many are reading our blog and how we can improve.
Thanks!
