Today we started with journals about our weekend. Each group had a top 100 spelling words sheet to help us edit our writing.
We will be starting story writing in the mornings, so today Mrs. Armour read, "The Enormous Turnip" and we discussed the pattern in the story of starting with the main character and adding one each time. Each table group wrote a "fill-in-the-blank" story adding their own characters - some were quite silly! Ask me about the story and what our group wrote about!
We had math groups today, some played a harder race to 100 with tens and ones, and some of us played some games with odd and even numbers. Here is the poem Mrs. Armour read in her group -
If you are an even number
You always have a pair
So if you look around
Your buddy will always be there
If you are an odd number
There's always a lonely one
He looks around to find his buddy
But he's the only one!
We played kick ball for gym today. We played grade 2 boys and grade 1 girls against grade 1 boys and grade 2 girls. We kicked high and we kicked low and we tried to beat the ball to the base!
Make sure you check out our new Aspen grove of trees and bench beside the playground. Thank you to all the volunteers that help make this happen. Beautiful!
LAST LIBRARY TOMORROW - bring back your books so you can exchange one more week!
WE WOULD LOVE SOME MORE VOLUNTEERS FOR WEDNESDAY for our Heritage Park field trip. Please send a note with your child or let the office or Mrs. Armour know. Thank you!
Thanks to all those who have volunteered for swimming on June 7, 12, 14, 19, 21 in the afternoon.
RUN 2K CLUB IS TUESDAY (TOMORROW) THIS WEEK BECAUSE OF HERITAGE PARK TRIP.
