Happy Monday! For the next four mornings we will be
researching more details about the Arctic. We can choose one of arctic books to read and find something new to add to our already growing knowledge of this region. We can find an Inuktitut word, draw and label a picture, or write an interesting new fact to share during carpet connection time.
We brainstormed some words to write an
Acrostic poem of the word INUKSUK to go with our beautiful glass art we did with Clay For Kids.
In word work, we will be continue
listening and writing a sentence that Mrs. Armour reads to us to practice our printing, sounding out, spacing and spelling all together.
In Math we will continue to work on
word problems. Today are "special number" was 12. We all had 12 cube blocks and explored different ways to group them to create number sentences then we created a word problem from one of our sentences.
As investigators, we questioned and hypothesized about what might happen when
ice and salt come together? Then each group observed how two ice cubes changed over time - one without salt, one with salt. We checked on our ice cubes every 5 minutes 20 minutes while Mrs. Armour read the story,
Tupag the Dreamer. Ask me what I observed.
What does this tell you about the difference between saltwater and freshwater?
We will plan to have gym outside this week because of the beautiful weather! Thanks for sending boots to run and splash in! Today we ran a lap and did a soccer and marble relay - "Don't lose your marbles!"
