Thursday

We have a lot of projects we are working on and so we had a "finish up" time this morning. Then we had gymnastics and did lots of jumping and balancing! Some of us are thinking of really interesting ways to move across, up and down. We are learning to control our bodies and "count to three" when we land.

Today we had a recycling presentation in the library. It was about how much garbage goes into land fills and how we can make better choices. Colin says "Ninja Nick" bacteria is great at his job and ninja slices everything to compost super fast. That's the stuff we need to put in our GREEN ORGANIC bins. "Lazy Larry" doesn't do a good job at breaking down garbage in the landfill because there is no oxygen so most things just sit there for years and years.

Today some of us finished our Family writing and will be starting to assemble our "paper bag book" All About Me.

Every group finished their Olympic 100 chain today!! We will do a final count and then we are ready for the Opening Ceremonies on Monday. We did some Olympic Math by looking at the Medal Count page and asking, "How many MORE/LESS gold/silver/bronze medals does _______ country have than _______?" We can do this at home for practice.

We had Music today and Mr. O'Reilly told us we are going on a field trip soon. We were really excited.

TOMORROW WE ARE GOING TO NOSE HILL SO PLEASE DRESS WARM so we can do our best research as zoologists looking for tracks, smells, scat, habitat, sounds of animals. A good snack would be great too because it's a big hike. THANKS TO ALL who can volunteer. We will leave around 9:30 and be back by 12:00pm
