Happy June - Monday

Today we had journal writing and wrote about our weekend. Some of us are writing great details and interesting words. We had "30 second share" at the carpet - this helps to focus our thoughts to one main idea or three little details!

Ask me what I did in Math group today. Mrs. Armour's group did 5 double digit addition problems. We could use base 10 blocks, rulers, boxes, mental math or our fingers then we wrote, "My favorite strategy is_____"

We learned a song called the Canoe song that you can sing as a round. The grade ones sang one part and the grade twos sang the other part. Check out the link in the post below if you want to practice!

We experimented with "water bottle canoes" this afternoon. Each group had a water bottle (with a lid), 2 elastics, 2 popsicle sticks (seats or oars), 2 pennies (people:) After we had made our canoe, we could test it in the "Bay of Fundy" to see what happened. Ask me what I predicted and what we tried.

Mrs Bigelow came to teach us during Science and Mrs. Armour forgot to tell her about Gym time! So we had lots of fun testing our canoes and we will start Kickball tomorrow and maybe have a longer gym time:)

Today we had Music. Ask me what colour I am working on and if I achieved a "belt"
