Wednesday

Today was our new friend Sion's (pronounced Sean/Shawn) share day.
Ask me what he shared!

Today was twin/triplet day - ask me what Ms. Jones challenge was outside!

We are continuing to practice noun/verb/adjective - ask me to give you an
example of each word - can you make a silly sentence?

Mrs. Armour read a Blackfoot legend called, "How the Prairie Anemone Got its Fur" by
Annora Brown, then we drew crocus' in our art journal - so beautiful!!!
Ask me what reason the story/legend gave for the colours and "fur" on the crocus.

Today was Run Club - ask me if I ran! We run 2 big laps (Terry Fox run route) which is
about 2km. We used popsicle sticks to keep track of how many laps altogether - today we
ran 55km!! Wear your Coffin Cares shirts/sweatshirts next Wednesday and join us at the
picnic tables after the first bell at lunch. We run first and then eat together.

We went over our Math word problem (ask me what my number sentence and word sentence was for step one and two (see yesterdays blog for the details) and used cubes to work it out as a
class - then after we had fixed any problems we had we made inuksuit with
cubes and tried to make up new math challenges for our friends.

This afternoon was our last chance to create a warm and dry insulator for our
Arctic buddy - we gave ideas/feedback to our friends to let them know what
we thought they had done well and something they might want to fix or add.
Tomorrow our arctic buddies go into the Arctic! (Mrs. Armour's big cooler with
ice packs). We will take 3 temperature readings to see if the water in our Arctic
buddies stays the same or drops. Friday we will do the "rain test" to see if our
Arctic buddies can stay dry.

Library tomorrow!

Looking ahead - Friday, April 19th is Good Friday and Monday, April 22nd is Easter - no school.

May 1st - our "in-school field trip" Teacher's Pet is coming to help us discover Acadia culture. We will need 3 volunteers from 8:45 - 11:00 AM. Let Mrs. Armour know if you are available to help. More information will be coming home after the long weekend.
