We are working on writing an Arctic Tale for the next while. Mrs. Armour is reminding us it is a process...so it takes more than one day to write and edit and check it again!
We have our plan with the who (characters), where/when (setting), what, (problem) and how (the action and the ending). Ask me about my story!
Today we brainstormed our "kick off" sentence and asked 3 people for ideas. Reading the first sentences of a few books is another way to find a good idea.
Ask me what we worked on in Math group today. Mrs. Armour's group practiced estimating with a pile of blocks to see how close to the actual number we were. We also made "number houses" and tried to decide who would be able to "come to the party".
For example, if it were "8's house" 8,0,1,7,2,6,3,5 and the "4 twins" would all be able to come IF it was an "addition party" Can you figure out some other numbers that would come together if it was a "subtraction party"?
Swimming afternoon with some ipad or chromebook time when we returned.
Parent Council meeting tonight.
Volunteer tea tomorrow. 2-3:30pm
Run Club tomorrow at lunch.
Last swim Thursday. Library (we will try and fit it in the morning!)
No school Friday (PD day for teachers). No school Monday. Happy Victoria Day!
