Today we practiced sharing our Arctic paper bag book because tomorrow we are sharing with our Big Buddies! We are excited to show them all the things we have learned about Iqaluit, Nunavut and beyond!
This was our last chance to add details or finish up with pages that weren't quite completed.
We brainstormed the "where" and "when" or setting for our Arctic Tales. Here are some of our ideas:
One polar night in the quiet town of Iqaluit....
Two years ago on a frosty day by the Arctic ocean...
One summer/fall/spring/winter day...
Far away in the archipelago...
During Word Work we checked our sentences that Mrs. Armour had dictated and edited them - some of the tricky words were use, there, and each. Most of us had all of the "_ob" words correct!
After lunch, we watched a video about "Canada's Ocean Playground" Nova Scotia. Did you know that it is Latin (a very old language they used to learn in school) for "New Scotland". Ask me what the scenery (land) was like.
Mrs. Armour started reading a book called, Fiddles and Spoons - Journey of an Acadian Mouse
We will finish it tomorrow. Ask me what has happened and what I think might happen!
The volunteer tea sounded and looked lovely. We got to go play outside while the teachers went in and out to say, Thank You!
Tomorrow is SWIMMING and Library.
Thank you to all who have sent back their field trip forms for Glenbow Museum. Please return them tomorrow.
