Blue Day Wednesday!

Today was our first BLUE DAY at Dr. Coffin school....brrrrr! We stayed inside the whole day (except when we had to go into the school for the assembly, gym, lunch and music!) We had snack and played games or colored at recess and then at lunch recess we were in the Library coloring beautiful pictures of butterflies, transformers and pokemon. It was really fun!

We had our second "Coffin Cares" assembly this morning at 9am. We sang the school song and then Mrs. Polski recognized some students who have shown care to themselves, others or our school. Max and Samantha have been great examples this last month making great choices and being kind to others. Thank you!

Grade ones worked on the "an" family and had fun thinking of lots of words for a "super sentence."
One of our sentences was "The womAN rAN with a pAN all the way to JapAN!" The grade twos worked on short and long vowel sounds and used some Star Wars books to help them.

Lily threw the ball and hit the SHARE category of "TRIPS" so this month, we can be thinking of a trip that we made with our families, near or far and bring something like pictures or souvenirs to share with all of us. We can also just take a turn sharing about our trip if we don't have any pictures. (We can share about a trip to the Calgary zoo or a trip to Mexico, or to Edmonton, it's our choice!)

Most of us finished our COLOUR PAGE in our Art Journal this afternoon. We are trying to show all the things we discovered about colour. Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, Warm, Cool, Tint, Shade are some of the words we used.

The weather is staying cold for a couple more days, so please keep dressing warm! I wonder if wearing yellow is warmer than wearing blue?
