We started off with our Poetry challenge but only a few of us were focused so we missed our Volleyball time today to spend more time on our poems.
We need to READ poems, COPY poems, CREATE poems, and PERFORM poems. We all made poem rings and we are trying to get 3 holes punched in each category, so we can earn our "I'm a poet and I know it!" badge. We worked really hard until it was time for Library and thanks to Lily and Colin for sharing their poems they have created.
During Library, Mrs. Kidd said she was impressed how well we are learning to get our books, sign them out and read while we are waiting. There is a really cool Pioneer Village set up in the Library that we can play with if we are really careful and respectful. Thanks Mrs. Kidd and Mrs.Wilkins for sharing this with us!
After recess we worked on our Family writing. We would love for you to share some stories about yourselves, so we can write about your favorite things. Once we had written about one family member, we could move on to Math tubs...all about patterns. Ask us which one we worked at today and what pattern we created.
After lunch and quiet reading time, we had an afternoon working on our Animal "Who Am I?" poster. We are learning more about working in groups and how each member can have a different part so we can check off our tasks. We typed up our facts, looked for a good, clear picture and created a poster. Ask us how we worked in our group and what we have left to work on tomorrow. We are going to put up the posters in the hallway and see if other students can guess our animal by our clues.
Some of us went on to Mathletics before we came back to the Clubhouse for some sharing and our read aloud, Old Man Coyote. Thanks Lily for sharing about your trip to Kananaskis! This is our month for sharing about trips. Bring in a picture or draw one and let Mrs. Armour know you are ready to share so we can learn more about our city, country and world.
Tomorrow and Thursday we have Music with Mr. O'Reilly
Thursday report cards come home.
Friday is a PD day. No school for students.
