We wrote in our Journals and made pictures. We had a lot to say about our holidays. We tried to remember our Topic sentence, at least three details and then our closing sentence.
In gym, we had four stations to play at: Basketball, Hula Hoops, Skipping and Scoops. Every few minutes, Mrs. Armour would blow the whistle and we would change to the next station. It was a good review of some of the activities we have learned.
In word work we will be working on "word families" The grade ones started today on the "at" family. How many "at" words can you think of? We discovered there are a lot!
For Math we are starting to discuss patterns. What is a pattern? Are there different kinds of patterns? We went on a pattern hunt around the school to see how many patterns we could discover. Some of us found a few ABABAB patterns and some of us found ABCABCABC types of patterns. We will record what we found and share tomorrow.
In the afternoon we had quiet book time and then worked in our Art Journal. We are designing a page to share what we have learned about Colour! We glued our Colour Wheel in today and will work on the title and adding our key words during the week. Remember our "Guess Who" game with clues? We found those and glued them in our journal so we have them for our "All About Me" project.
Mrs. Armour "plant-sat" our Amaryllis and it is just blooming now and looks amazing! We will record the details in our plant book to see how many centimeters it has grown.
The weather looks like we are in for another cold snap Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Please remind us to dress warm in snow pants, hat, mitts and warm boots.
A few of us forgot our indoor shoes today. Thanks for putting them in the backpacks for tomorrow!
