We decided it was a bit too fresh to go outside today - another Blue Day! It has been awhile since have had time with our Big Buddies from Room 6 and 7, so we met with them in the Library to read. Some of us played chess and other board games. It was really fun!
We joined Room 1 and 2 to share our beautiful amaryllis plant that now has three blooms and is 45.5cm tall. It has another stem that is 43cm and we are hoping to have more blooms next week!
We are looking forward to becoming zoologists as study the animals that live (or used to live) on Nose Hill. Mrs. Hamby shared some really cool pictures from her farm. We looked at the clues and tried to decided what had happened just like scientists. Then we read a story, Honey Paw and Lightfoot. Ask me some questions about what we discovered about bears and how they live.
We went back to the Clubhouse for a snack and indoor recess then came together again to find out our animals and groups for researching. We are going to create a "Who Am I?" poster with at least 7 clues about their appearance, tracks, habitat, food, sounds, survival skills and family group.
Our new category for sharing is "Trips." Ingmar and Emmaline shared yesterday. Ingmar shared about his holiday to Oregon to watch the Eclipse in the summer. He also had sent us a post card when he was in The Netherlands over Christmas break, so it was really neat to get a letter addressed to The Clubhouse! Emmaline shared about her trip to Manitoba to visit her grandparents. It was really fun!
The weekend is a good time to look for pictures and talk about trips you may have taken so we can be ready to share sometime in January. If we are bringing pictures that are not in an album, please send them in a ziplock bag, so they are protected.
Have a great weekend and enjoy the Chinook!
